Mediation is a place where people exercise choice and control in deciding the best possible ways to resolve their dispute.
A solution that is reached in mediation can resolve present problems – and it can also make it less likely that issues will arise in the future.
Astra Mediation helps people to resolve disputes by understanding the past, explaining the present and planning the future.
Astra Mediation can help you.
The aim of Astra Mediation is to work with parties, assisting them to identify and put in place resolutions that work for them. We do this by creating a safe and confidential environment for parties where they can listen and be heard, so that mutual understanding can be achieved and a way forward can be found.
We support people to identify their best hopes and objectives, and to express these in a place where they can be heard.
Astra Mediation’s principal mediator is accredited under the National Mediator Accreditation System (NMAS) and is a member of the Resolution Institute.
Is mediation an effective form of dispute resolution?
When a dispute is successfully resolved through mediation:
- It is quicker than going to court.
- It is cheaper (much cheaper) than going to court.
- The parties have much more control over the result.
- The outcome is certain which compares with the uncertainty of court results.
- It is possible for parties to agree on an outcome that a court is not able to provide.
- There can be less damage to the relationship between the parties.
